Getting Your Items out of Storage

Delivery Dates

In Store Pickup/Drop Off

Delivery - $50.00

Delivery dates and times are limited, so we suggest scheduling your delivery as soon as possible. Delivery should be scheduled at least 10 business days in advance.

To schedule the delivery of your item(s) currently in storage first select the month from the Pick Up/Delivery category the left. Then select the day from the resulting list, from there use the drop down list to select the time slot and finally select Delivered to have your item brought back to you. Delivery is $50 regardless of original order size and is limited to locations within 15 miles of campus.

In Store Pick Up - Free

Your items currently in storage can be picked up at MSU Surplus Store during regular business hours at no charge. If you would like to pick up your item(s) at the store please schedule this by selecting the month from the In Store Pick Up/Drop Off category the left. Then select the day from the resulting list, from there select In Store Pick Up to have your item ready for you to pick up. In Store Pick Ups must be scheduled at least 1 full business day in advance.


Have things to go into storage?

Step 1: Storage Options

Determine what you will be storing and which containers you might need. We offer the following storage options:

Items that fit inside of a storage hamper

Hamper - $100/semester

Hampers have inside dimensions of 41" x 27" x 31" and a 500 lb. capacity. After you load the hamper, it is immediately secured shut with a tamper-proof lock. If you rent three hampers, the fourth hamper is free.

S-Box - $15/semester

Medium sized reusable storage box, 22"x18"x11" in size, can be loading with any mix of smaller items. After you load the container, it is secured shut with a tamper-proof lock.

Furniture/Oversized Item

This includes items that will not fit in a hamper. Storage pricing (per semester) is as follows:

Step 2: Select Your Storage Item(s)

On the left hand side of our site, select the semester that we will be storing your items. Find each of the items that you would like to have stored, and add them to your shopping cart. Remember to adjust quantities as needed.

Step 3: Schedule a Pick Up

To schedule a pick up day and time first select the month from the Pick Up/Delivery category the left. Then select the day from the resulting list, from there use the drop down list to select the time slot and finally select Picked Up to have your item your placed in storage.

Pickup from on-campus housing is FREE if your order totals $100 or more. If your order is less than $100, or your items are being picked up from an off-campus location (within 15 miles), be sure to add the " Student Storage Pickup Fee " to your order.

Please note that the Thursday and Friday of move-out week pick up fees will be charged regardless of order size or pick up location.

Any size order can be dropped off at MSU Surplus Store during regular business hours at no charge. If you would like to drop off your items at the store please schedule this by selecting the month from the In Store Pick Up/Drop Off category the left. Then select the day from the resulting list, from there select In Store Drop Off to have your item your placed in storage.

Step 4: Pick Up

Have your items ready by your appointment time, and we'll pick them up from you. If you ordered storage hampers, we will bring empty ones with us. Once your items are loaded into the hamper, we will secure it and lock the lid. Oversized items will be carefully moved and loaded by MSU Surplus Store employees.

Step 5: Delivery of Your Items

Shipping your Storage to Us

If you would like to ship your item to us for storage, for instance if you are an incoming freshman, you can do so. We offer Semester Storage for items/boxes that are shiped to us. 

To arrange for the storage of items you will be shipping to us please:

  1. Package your item(s) into boxes.
  2. Order this item with a quantity equal to the number of boxes you will be shipping to us.
  3. Checkout and obtain a invoice/confirmation number.
  4. Write that number on the outside of all of the boxes being shipped to us.
  5. Ship your item to :
